I like Suction, because they are moshing away (excuse this rock-oriented
word...) so extremely sympathetic that I really hope that there will be small
Suction action figures really soon. Solvent and Lowfish both contribute 3
tracks from the albums (Solvent's is already out, see De:Bug 10:98, Lowfish's
will follow), and add one exclusive track each. Nothing but hits. Small,
freaky anectodes from the series "me and my drumcomputer", enriched with
melodies for millions, 2 gallons of funk, analogue fryings and deeeeeeeeep
breaks. Simply gorgeous. 5/5

Leftfield Section: In The Box
This is actually an LP-length 8-track vinyl compilation of two CD EP's from
Toronto's answer to Rephlex records. 'Robot music from Canada' is their motto
and they most assuredly live up to it. Label-owners Jason Amm and Gregory De
Rocher take a side each to weave curious innovative aural adventures that
reek of Sheffield's finest electronica one minute and diseased urban
alienation the next. There is lonely beauty here, made all the more poignant
by the record's very limited distribution throughout Europe (via New York's
Serotonin imprint). Unique and highly recommended. 5/5
